The mimosa is as much a staple of DC brunch as frittatas, boat shoes, and two hour waits. However, you definitely don’t need to wait until brunch to enjoy this effervescent marriage of orange juice and bubbly. If you want to sip on this tipple late into the night, there are a few ways to hulk up the mimosa to be a little — or a lot — more hardcore. Here are a few of our faves:
Hard Apple Cider Mimosa
- 1 part sparkling wine
- 1 part hard apple cider
- 1 part orange juice
Tequila Sunrise Mimosa
- 1 part orange juice
- 1 part tequila
- A splash of pineapple juice
- A splash of grenadine
Russian Mimosa
- 1 part vodka
- 1 part Prosecco
- Orange juice
